HILLSVILLE — Kenneth Joseph Fletcher, 37, of Galax had his probation revoked by the court after continuing a pattern of breaking and entering and larcenies and will now serve nearly 19 years in prison.
According to a report from Carroll County Commonwealth’s Attorney Nathan Lyons, Fletcher had a list of breaking and entering charges and larceny charges from 1997 to 1999, for which he’d received probation and a suspended sentence. Since that time, Fletcher had traveled to North Carolina in 2010 to 2011, where he committed new breaking and entering offenses.
On March 26, a judge in Carroll County Circuit Court judge reviewed a total of 15 counts of violation of probation on a felony offense, and revoked Fletcher’s full suspension period. “People have the right to be safe in their homes, and not deal with offenders like you,” the judge told Fletcher.
Fletcher will serve a total of 18 years and 10 months in the Virginia Department of Corrections.
