Todd Jennings’ Jan. 25 column about power outages was a corker, catching the sentiments of many of us.
Appalachian Power is failing to hire contract crews to keep trees trimmed back from the pole-to-pole power lines, according to a neighbor of mine who works for a tree trimming service.
On Jan. 25 I finally got through to an AEP outage man in West Virginia — they no longer have any local responders to these calls, he said — after getting nothing but 15-minute waits and then a bunch of static from the 800 number listed on my AEP bill.
