HILLSVILLE — A 40-year-old man from Vandergrift, Pa., faces charges of kidnapping and assault from an Aug. 1 domestic dispute at Best Western, according to Hillsville Police Chief Greg Bolen.
First Sgt. Robby Martin and officers Billy Anauo and Josh
Edwards responded to a report of a domestic dispute at about 2 a.m., the chief said. Authorities also received a call from a female who reported she was being held against her will in her motel room.
Upon the officers' arrival at the Best Western, they found a boyfriend and girlfriend in the room.
"The female advised she'd been assaulted and held against her will," Bolen said.
As a result, the officers charged Thomas Steven Cassidy, who was taken to the New River Valley Jail and held without bond.
More charges may be pending.
