Pedestrian hit on U.S. 58 in Galax

Galax police are investigating an accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on West Stuart Drive/U.S. 58 on Monday afternoon, according to Police Chief Rick Clark.
Galax police and Galax-Grayson EMS responded to a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle approximately 250 feet west of the intersection of Stuart Drive and Armory Road.
Terry Hammersley, 39, of Galax, was struck by a vehicle operated by Norma Anauo, who was traveling west on Stuart Drive, Clark said.
