Passenger dies after motorcycle hits deer

UPDATED 9/26/11:

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Officials are reporting a 49-year-old Southwest Virginia man has died as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Hillsville on Sept. 22.

Danny Lee Brewster died after being taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. A deer in the road caused the motorcycle he was riding on U.S. 58 on the Hillsville bypass to crash.

Police said Brewster, a passenger on the 2004 Suzuki Intruder, was heading back to the Rural Retreat area from a visit to Stuart at the time.
