HILLSVILLE — HIllsville Rescue Squad does still exist in a way, but those involved are working to terminate its status as a corporation, according to a long-time member and officer.
Local officials shut down the volunteer agency years ago when a member inappropriately used an ambulance to move furniture.
The organization lingered on as hopes to revive the rescue squad remained, said Larry South, who will serve as an officer until the organization’s final demise.
