Two Galax police officers helped to rescue a stranded motorist on Tuesday in rising waters on Creekview Drive, during heavy rains that dumped several inches of water on the area.
Galax Police Department responded to a call of a woman stranded in her automobile on Creekview Drive at 6:26 a.m.
Upon their arrival, responding officers observed a vehicle trapped by rising water. Officers Chris Hines and Andrew Burnett entered the flood waters up to their waist in 30-degree temperatures and rescued Lisa Frost of Galax from her vehicle.
