HILLSVILLE — One component of the calculations that Carroll County uses to figure natural gas rates will rise by 16.7 percent, after a decision made by the supervisors this month.
After recently building a service line to Mohawk through Hillsville and getting into the natural gas business, Carroll County officials first set the rates in the spring, acknowledging that the initial numbers might need further tweaking.
“We need to change and modify those rates a little bit,” Supervisors Chairman David Hutchins said.
