HILLSVILLE – Natural gas should be flowing in Carroll County by April 15, according to a report by Dennis Cole, project manager.
Cole told members of the Carroll County Industrial Development Authority during their April 1 meeting that everything was on schedule.
According to his report, 3.314 miles of linear pipeline had been installed with the total projected at 3.28 miles to complete the installation.
“We’re getting close,” Cole said.
The county is advertising for a natural gas pipeline manager/utility specialist.
According to the advertisement, the specialist will perform advanced technical work managing safe operation of the county’s natural gas pipeline including estimating, planning and executing pipeline construction projects and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies.
The work performed will be under the general direction of County Administrator Gary Larrowe.
The position will remain open until filled with the applications reviewed on April 19.
The Mohawk carpet plant in Hillsville will be one of the first customers hooked onto the natural gas line once it’s completed.
