ROANOKE — A 29-year-old Galax man will serve 188 months in a federal prison for a drug-related conviction and then be deported, according to court papers.
Juan Israel Morales was recently sentenced after pleading guilty to a charge of conspiracy to distribute of a large quantity of methamphetamine.
An August 2011 federal indictment originally charged Morales with possession of meth with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime, according to court papers.
