Mayhew, Irvin marry

GARNER, N.C. — Abigail Lauren Mayhew and Stephen Brooks Irvin, both of Raleigh, N.C., were married at 5 p.m. April 30 at the Rand-Bryan House in Garner. The Rev. Paul Couch officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Janet Mitchell of Phoenix, Ariz., and Michael Mayhew of Palmyra, Va.
Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jim Turner of Greensboro. Her paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mayhew.

She received a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a nurse at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Irvin of Winston-Salem.  His maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Roger Martin of Galax.  His paternal grandparents are Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Irvin of Galax.
He received a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University and a master’s degree from East Carolina University.  He is a physician assistant at Burton Family Medicine in Wake Forest.
The bride was escorted by her mother.
The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Cassandra Mayhew of Columbia, S.C.  Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Richardson of  Chapel Hill, Leslie Werther of Fayetteville, Nina Bissette of Monroe and Kristin Rowan of Greensboro.
The best man was the groom’s brother, Alex Irvin of Winston-Salem, N.C. Groomsmen were Andrew Gilreath of Raleigh, Jason Short of Tarboro; Ross Pleban of Raleigh and Paul Duncan of Raleigh.
The greeter was Andrea Stroup of Morrisville.
Ceremony music was performed by Elizabeth Raymond, flutist, and Seth Raymond, cellist.
A bridesmaids luncheon, hosted by the mother of the bride, was held at Seaboard Café in Raleigh. A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s parents was held at Vinnie’s Steakhouse in Raleigh. A reception was held at the Rand Bryan House in Garner.
After a honeymoon in Aruba, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
