Update: Sheriff J. B. Gardner has confirmed by phone with Shaine Scott Eckrote's mother that she knows where her son is and that he is okay. "Mrs. Barkley wanted to thank everyone who was involved in locating her son," the Sheriff said in an email to The Gazette.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Office is investigating the disappearance of 20 year old Shaine Scott Eckrote of Patrick County, after members of his family reported him missing from the Kanawha Valley Arena area, in Dugspur.
Eckrote was last seen on the night of Saturday, July 12 at a mud bog event. Eckrote, told family members he was going to leave with friends.
Eckrote suffers from a brain injury that may affect his behavior. He was last seen wearing a white “wifebeater” t-shirt, jeans and may have a black hoodie with him. He has gauges in both ears and a tattoo on his back that says “In loving memory of Gregory Scott Martin.”
