Man faces drug charges

Dow William Owens, 26, of Haysi, was arrested July 9 and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, according to a Galax Police Department report.
Owens was charged by Police Officer Darren Alley, who was conducting a routine traffic stop. Alley's observations led to a search of the vehicle, which resulted in Owens being charged.
Owens was sent to the New River Valley Regional Jail pending his appearance in the Galax General District Court.
