Man charged in bus wreck

INDEPENDENCE — No injuries were reported Aug. 11 after a pickup truck rear-ended a stopped Grayson County school bus.
Cpl. Matthew Adams of the Independence Police Department said the bus was stopped in traffic in front of the school board office on Main Street at 7:58 a.m. when the accident happened.
Adams said a 1999 Chevrolet S-10 pickup, driven by Paul Dean Greer III, 41, of Mouth of Wilson, was traveling east when his vehicle struck the bus, driven by Donald Gene McGrady of Mouth of Wilson. He was not injured, nor were any of the 10 students riding the bus.
Adams estimated damage to the bus at $1,800 and $2,500 to the pickup. Greer was charged with following to close.
