By LARRY CHAMBERS, Staff

HILLSVILLE – The Carroll County Board of Supervisors learned at its Nov. 14 meeting that the Carroll-Grayson-Galax Regional Solid Waste Authority is solid financially and the landfill should last for another 40 years.

Sam Dickson, who represents Carroll on the authority, gave the supervisors an updated report for the site that’s located on Landfill Road in the county. He said the landfill has six cells and estimated the cost to build a new cell at between $3 million and $5 million.
