Lady Blue Devils pick up pair of district victories

BLAND –– Grayson County’s first point in the second quarter gave it enough for the win as the Blue Devil defense locked down on Bland County in a 47-16 Mountain Empire District win Wednesday at Bland High School.

Grayson County limited the Bears to three points or fewer in each of the first three quarters, taking a 34-4 halftime lead.

All 10 players score for the Blue Devils, led by Camryn McGrady’s 16 points. Meredith Frost added nine as Grayson County notched its eighth  straight victory. Four players had three points each to lead Bland County.

Grayson County 50, Graham 41: The Blue Devils opened up a 13-5 lead after the first eight minutes and kept the G-Girls at arm’s length the rest of the night in picking up the MED win Tuesday in Bluefield.

McGrady scored 19 points to go with seven rebounds and four blocked shots. Meredith Frost contributed 13 points, four steals and three assists while Madison Shupe chipped in with 11 points and nine boards.
