INDEPENDENCE — A Crockett man was indicted last Friday on a charge of DUI involuntary manslaughter by a Grayson County Circuit Court grand jury.
Bradlee Erick Hahn, 21, was indicted as the result of a traffic accident that occurred on Clito Road on Aug. 28, 2010.
According to a report filed by State Trooper Alan Vaughan, who investigated the accident, Dennis Edward Smith Jr., 22, was riding in the bed of a truck that was backing up the road to pick up another passenger who had been left behind when it ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned. Smith was ejected from the vehicle and trapped underneath the pickup. He died at the scene.
Vaughan said Hahn was driving a 2000 Dodge Dakota pickup truck.
The grand jury also indicted two men as the result of a shooting that occurred Sept. 29, 2010, on Hilltop Drive in Independence.
Warren Scott Robbins, 36, of Independence, was indicted on a charge of malicious assault and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
According to a police report filed by Independence Police Officer Ron Houk, Robbins allegedly shot Kenneth Eugene Group II of Independence in the face with a .38 caliber pistol.
Houk said Group was sitting in a 1994 Chevrolet when he was shot through the glass.
