WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The victim of a Thanksgiving Day shooting in Gambetta says a man with a rifle targeted him intentionally.
Larry Lundy, speaking on the phone while recovering at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, told The Gazette he had set up his blind along the power lines to watch for deer passing through the open right of way on Nov. 25.
Lundy wore blaze orange and his blind was open at the time.
He watched a pickup go over a hill in the area and out of sight. Later Lundy saw a man walking over the hill.
