Courtenay Houston (second from left) has resigned as executive director of the Tri-Area Pregnancy Resource Center to take a job with Carroll County schools and to study to become a teacher.

Board members of the Tri-Area Pregnancy Resource Center recently wished her farewell and presented her with a gift certificate.

The pregnancy center, a non-profit organization, was restarted in 2005 with a budget of $500. Since then, it has served 5,000 clients and  more than 400 babies.

The center is supported by area churches and community donations.
