HILLSVILLE — A 41-year-old Laurel Fork man has been charged with shooting a horse and a mule Nov. 18, according to Carroll authorities.
Steven Spangler was charged Monday with two counts of maliciously shooting animals belonging to Tommy Brown of Dugspur, according to Sheriff Warren Manning. The animals were a horse and a mule. The charges are Class 5 felonies.
Carroll Sheriff's Office Investigators Fred Bobbitt and Venton Smith and Animal Control Officer Terry Woods handled the investigation, the sheriff said.
