Hillsville man charged with grand larceny

HILLSVILLE — A Hillsville man faces charges of breaking and entering and grand larceny from places in Carroll County, according to Sheriff J.B. Gardner.

Zachary Skyler Simmons was charged with three counts of breaking and entering, five counts of grand larceny and one count of destruction of property, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Following leads, Investigator Donnie Spangler of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office obtained warrants Oct. 25 charging Simmons with the breaking and entering of a building belonging to Floyd Richardson located on Old Mill Manor Road and the residence of Joseph Boyles located on Pops Peak Road, both in Carroll County.   
Deputies searched Simmons’ home on Akers Avenue in Hillsville and numerous stolen items were recovered, including collectible Coca Cola cans and bottles.
Richardson’s property was valued at $200 and Boyles’ property was valued at more than $3,000.
Simmons was transported to the New River Valley Regional Jail.
