Carroll County 62, Graham 56
Brett Rogers and Seth Hill combined for 13 points in the last four minutes of the third quarter, leading a Carroll County rally that lifted the Cavaliers to a 62-56 Southwest District win Tuesday at Graham Middle School.
The win, coupled with Abingdon’s loss Tuesday to Grundy, propelled the Cavaliers into sole possession of the SWD boys’ race with a 4-1 record. The Cavaliers improved to 12-2 overall.
Graham (3-8, 0-3) led 33-26 at the midpoint of the third period before Rogers and Hill got hot. Rogers scored 10 points in the third quarter, and Hill’s 3-pointer beat the buzzer and gave the Cavaliers a 44-41 lead heading into the fourth.
Graham turned the ball over three times in the first minute of the fourth quarter as Carroll County pulled ahead.
Hill led Carroll County with 15 points and Rogers added 14. Travis Green finished with 10 for the Cavaliers.
J.D. Hunter scored a game-high 16 points for the G-Men.

Grayson County 49, Bland County 45
The Blue Devils erased a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter to claim a Mountain Empire District win Tuesday in Rocky Gap.
Bland County led 38-31 but Grayson County (10-5, 4-0) outscored the hosts 18-7 down the stretch.
Mikaela Anders led all scorers with 22 points, including four key free throws in the final minute.
Laurel Hankins’ 17 points led Bland County (5-9, 2-1) and Kirby Mustard chipped in 12.

Carroll County 39, Graham 25
The Cavaliers took advantage of a slow start and notched a key SWD win Tuesday in Hillsville.
Carroll County (6-7, 5-0) held Graham to two points in each the first and fourth quarters, jumping out to an early 13-2 lead.
Katelyn Viars led the Cavaliers with nine points, and Kayla Goins added eight points, 11 rebounds and five assists.
Graham, which got point production from only three players, was led by Meg Henry’s 14 points.
JV – Carroll County 37-10.
Galax 55, Pocahontas 21
The Maroon Tide held the Indians scoreless in the final period in rolling to an MED win Tuesday in Pocahontas.
Galax (5-8, 1-2) outscored Pocahontas 19-0 in the final period after taking a 36-21 lead through the end of the third.
Piper Caudell’s 14 points paced Galax, while Jill Bartlett and Caci Higgins scored nine points each.
Pocahontas (0-14, 0-4) got three 3-pointers and 13 points from Brittany Baker.
