Grayson County 51, Alleghany (N.C.) 37
Mikaela Anders needed to score just 10 points Monday night to reach 1,000 for her career.
It didn’t take long.
Anders scored 12 in the first quarter and finished with a career-high 35 points to go with 22 rebounds as Grayson County knocked off Alleghany (N.C.) 51-37 in a nondistrict game Monday night.
The win avenged a pair of earlier losses to the Trojans (3-11).
Anders, a 6-foot senior center, added 14 fourth-quarter points as the Blue Devils (7-5) pulled away from a 37-28 third-quarter lead.
