INDEPENDENCE — A Grayson County Circuit Court grand jury indicted 11 people on 31 charges last Friday.
Richard Otto Alley of Galax was indicted on six counts of forgery and six counts of uttering a forged document. He is accused of writing checks on the account of Brenda and Richard Anders.
Jackie Ray Long of Independence was indicted on five counts of grand larceny of a firearm and one count of grand larceny. He allegedly took the guns from Brandon McClure.
An indictment indicates that a grand jury found sufficient evidence for a case to go to trial, and does not indicate guilt. All of those indicted are innocent until proven guilty.

• Marty Ray Smith – grand larceny of a vehicle owned by John Dewees.
• Kevin Michael Cook – DWI (third offense in 10 years).
