NARROWS –– Grayson County broke away from a tight game with an overpowering second half and clinched the Mountain Empire District girls’ regular season championship with a 53-36 win Wednesday over Narrows.
The Blue Devils (17-4 overall, 8-1 district) led just 23-22 at halftime before outscoring the Green Wave 30-14 in the final two quarters of play.
Camryn McGrady and Meredith Frost led Grayson County with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Narrows (4-15, 1-7) got a game-high 18 points from Tiffany Perdue.
