INDEPENDENCE –– Brett McPherson has been involved with some very big high school football games. As an assistant coach at William Monroe he was part of a state championship team in 1991, and he was also a part of a team that ended Lunenburg Central’s string of eight-plus years without a regular season loss.
This tops them all.
“Kind of like Halleys Comet. It comes around once every 75 years or so,” McPherson said Monday.
