Debbie Harris of Galax rolled through town last Thursday afternoon in her brand new Dodge Challenger, estimated at $40,000, that she won through a Virginia Lottery ticket called Muscle Car Money Scratcher.

On Aug. 1, Harris stopped at Cockerham Tire & Auto Parts convenience store on South Main Street in Galax on her way to work, as she normally does, and with just $10 in her pocket, she purchased a $3 ticket and then a $5 ticket, which won her the new car.
“Oh, my gosh,” Harris said she thought after realizing she won. “It's just perfect to have won the car.”
Harris' ticket is the fifth of 12 which will win a muscle car.
Cockerham's was presented by Virginia Lottery sales representative Terri Robinson with a $500 bonus for the win.
With a few muscle car choices offered — Chevrolet Camaro SS, Dodge Charger R/T Hemi, Dodge Challenger R/T Hemi or Ford Mustang GT — Harris selected a 2010 Dodge Challenger in the color she wanted, white with black stripes.
Virginia Lottery State Customer Service Manager Mark Merritt handed Harris keys to her new car on Thursday at Direct Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep in Wytheville.
The Muscle Car Money Scratcher game features cash prizes up to $75,000.
The Virginia Lottery said the odds of winning a muscle car are one in 340,000.
