A Galax man was arrested and charged with multiple drug and traffic offenses after a vehicle pursuit on Sept. 14, according to Galax Police Chief Rick Clark.

Jason Keith Duncan, 21, of Galax was traveling on Country Club Lane when Galax Officer Silverio Gonzales attempted to stop him for an expired inspection sticker.
According to the police report, the driver ignored the police car’s blue lights and siren, and turned onto Poplar Knob Road before voluntarily stopping on Leedy Lane, a dead-end road in Carroll County.
After further investigation at the scene of the traffic stop, Gonzales charged Duncan with possession of Oxycodone, Xanax and marijuana. Duncan also received charges for reckless driving, failure to stop for an officer and an expired inspection sticker, Clark said.
Duncan was taken to the New River Valley Regional Jail, pending an appearance in Galax General District Court.
