A Galax man has been arrested and charged in connection with the distribution of methamphetamine.
Pablo Aguilar-Ramirez, 29, was taken into custody by members of the Galax Police Department and the Twin County Drug Task Force near his home on Meadow Street on Oct. 17, after an investigation of his alleged involvement in meth distribution, according to Galax Police Chief Rick Clark.

His charges include possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a Schedule II narcotic and possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule II narcotic.
The Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement division has filed a detainer against Aguilar-Ramirez, alleging his aggravated re-entry into the United States after having been previously deported, Clark said.
He is being held without bond in the New River Valley Regional Jail in Dublin.
