The Galax Gainers train at the Galax Gymnastics Center least six hours each week, with some athletes spending up to 12 hours a week working to perfect their routines. Their motto is “Practice, practice, practice makes perfect.”  Though it is hard work, the gymnasts also have fun with the tumble track and working on elements for their next level. The Galax Gymnastics Center is a member of the United States Gymnastics Federation and offers developmental classes for the beginner as well as a competitive team for ages 3-18. The team is coached by USAG pro coach and gym owner Babsi Higgins, who is assisted by Lee Ann Cockerham, Jamie Cockerham and Brittany Penfield.
