Galax drops second straight 5-game loss

MAX MEADOWS –– Galax dropped a tough five-game decision for the second time in four days Thursday, falling to Fort Chiswell 25-15, 23-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-9 in a Mountain Empire District match.

“We simply did not play well,” Galax coach Rose Houk said after her team dropped to 5-4 on the year, 0-1 in district play. “We missed 13 serves, and you can’t do that in a close match. We’ve been playing great, and this was not a good time to have a bad night.”
