A man wanted for a parole violation has allegedly made threats against officers.

INDEPENDENCE — The Grayson County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a man they characterize as a potentially dangerous fugitive. On March 7, the department issued an alert for Randy Lee Anders, warning that the “subject is possibly armed with a shotgun and a knife and has made threats toward law enforcement.”

Grayson Chief Deputy Tim Sawyer said Anders is wanted for a parole violation. Sawyer said the exact nature of Anders’ parole violation was not listed on paperwork, but the parole stems from his conviction on a felony charge of breaking and entering with intent to commit assault and battery.
A poster issued by the sheriff’s department lists Anders’ last known address as 2264 Grassy Creek Road in Mouth of Wilson.
Sawyer said his last known location was around the North Carolina border.
Sawyer noted that the area Anders is believed to be in is remote, and he said Friday he worries about the safety of officers sent to arrest him.
“We would love to take him off the road, given that he has made statements threatening police. We have to take that seriously.”

Anyone with information about Anders is urged to call the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department at 1-800-782-7764.
