INDEPENDENCE — Police say that Randy Lee Anders had threatened to harm law enforcement officers if they tried to apprehend him, and vowed that “he would not be taken alive.”
On Monday night, as Grayson County Sheriff’s Department deputies closed in on Anders while he hid in a basement room, police say the man drew a gun and appeared ready to back up that threat.
The 32-year-old Grayson County man was still listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Bristol Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, after being shot four times by police.
