HILLSVILLE — Four people in a 1977 Jeep that wrecked in the Fowlers Ferry section of Carroll County Sunday morning were listed as injured in the single-vehicle crash, according to a Virginia State Police report.
The incident occurred when the Jeep, driven Cody Moss, 18, of Elk Creek, was traveling too fast on the gravel road near the intersection of Virginia routes 635 and 739, according to the report by Trooper C.H. Campbell.
The vehicle went off the road to the right. Trying to correct, the driver sent the Jeep back across the road to the left.
Finally, the vehicle went back over the road to the right and overturned, partially ejecting and pinning the right rear passenger, identified as Lenzie Brown.
The Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department was called, but the passenger was freed, and the fire department was cancelled.
Emergency responders took all four occupants of the Jeep to the hospital for medical treatment.
Campbell charged Moss with reckless driving.
