FRIES — Four suspects have been arrested by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department and charged in connection with an alleged break-in that occurred in Fries.
Grayson County Sheriff Richard Vaughan said Deputy Eric Testerman checked a vehicle at the intersection of Tanglewood Road and Scenic Road in Fries at 4 a.m. on Jan. 6.
Testerman identified the occupants and discovered that the subjects had several boxes of collectibles and household items in the van that they were operating, but could not determine if the items were stolen.
The next morning, Bobby Linville of Fries reported that a vacant house that he owns at 44 Tanglewood Road had been broken into.
Deputies and investigators executed a search warrant at 400 Eagle Bottom Road in Fries, the residence of Bernadette Annette Sargeant, 51. The items were recovered.
Vaughan said four Fries residents were all charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny.
In addition to Bernadette Sargeant, those charged were: Nathan Hobert Jefferson, 29, of 209 Pine Ridge Lane; James Robert Sargeant, 25, of 10 Babershop Lane; Heather Lynn Sargeant, 24, of 209 Pine Ridge Lane.
Jefferson, James Sargeant and Heather Sargeant are all being held in the New River Valley Regional Jail without bond.
Bernadette Sargeant was held on a $1,000 bond.
