LAMBSBURG — A Lambsburg family was not home when a fire totally consumed their residence early Friday morning, according to Carroll County emergency officials.
A neighbor called 911 at 2:29 a.m. Friday to report the home at 2717 Lambsburg Road was completely engulfed in flames, according to Richard Sowers, chief of Cana Fire Department.
The first Cana firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes, confirming the intensity of the blaze.
They called for mutual aid from Franklin Volunteer Fire Department in Surry County, N.C., to help put the fire out.
