UPDATED 9:37 p.m. — The Thursday accident on Interstate 77 that ended the life of a Vienna, W.Va., man may have been caused by a medical issue, authorities believe.
The accident near the 7.2 mile marker is still being investigated by Virginia State Police.
They have released the name of the victim in the crash that occurred at about 3:50 p.m. as Ronald Leroy Wright.
State police have learned that Wright, driving a 2010 GMC cargo van south bound, suddenly veered across the median and collided with a 2004 Freightliner that had been heading north bound at the time.
The two vehicles struck head-on, according to state police report. Wright died at the scene.
