Fall Pumpkin Festival is Saturday in Baywood

The 22nd annual Baywood Fall Pumpkin Festival is Oct. 1 near Baywood Elementary School.
A country ham and gravy breakfast will be served 7-9 a.m. Cost is $5 for adults, $2.50 for ages 6-12, and free for younger ages.
A parade begins at 10 a.m., featuring the Shriners’ Kazim Hillbillies, the Grayson County VFW, area ROTC, antique vehicles, floats, political floats, Grayson County High School Chorus, and other entries. Owners of antique vehicles are invited to cruise in Baywood during the event.
The chorus will perform at a flag ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
There will be entertainment all day, including bluegrass and gospel  competition. Local vendors will sell items. A continuing antique tractor pull begins at 11 a.m.
Judging for the annual Dickenson Pet Show sponsored by Cresthaven Farms is at 11 a.m. Pet owners should register earlier.
There will be a petting zoo sponsored by Farm Bureau. Also planned is a bouncy castle, games for kids and a pumpkin painting booth.
The festival will sell souvenir t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and tote bags at reduced prices. Bring a lawn chair. Plenty of arts, crafts, food, information, and antique equipment will be on display.
Grayson County Schools will have a young artists’ exhibit.
Festival admission is $5 for adults, $2 for ages 5-12, and free for younger ages.
Event is hosted by Baywood Ruritan Club and Baywood Search and Rescue Squad.
