INDEPENDENCE — Grayson County will move forward with its plan to apply for acceptance into Virginia's Enterprise Zone Program after both the board of supervisors and Independence Town Council passed resolutions in support last week.
The program — which was established by the General Assembly in 1982 — is a partnership between state and local governments in which both parties seek to improve economic conditions within a targeted area of distress.
