Emergency call leads to drug charges

Galax police have arrested a woman on drug charges after assisting Galax-Grayson EMS with a drug overdose call.
According to Police Chief Rick Clark, Kaylan Jane Arnold, 20, of Galax was charged with possession of methamphetamine and a Clonopin.
The arrest took place after Officer Darrin Alley responded to a business on South Main Street in Galax to assist Galax-Grayson EMS with a reported drug overdose.
While interviewing Arnold in regards to the suspected overdose, Alley discovered suspected methamphetamine and a pharmaceutical tablet identified as a Clonopin, which caused him to arrest Arnold.
Arnold was released on bond pending her appearance in the Galax General District Court.
