Drugs, guns cash seized in traffic stop

WHITETOP — Grayson County deputies recently arrested Christopher Allen Riffey, 34, of Abingdon on several drug charges.

Cpl. Jeff Merilic and Deputy Travis Jefferson conducted a traffic stop on Riffey’s vehicle near Mud Creek Road in Whitetop, according to a police report.
A search of the vehicle revealed more than four pounds of marijuana, nearly two grams of meth, a rifle, $475 in cash and other drug paraphernalia, the report said.
Riffey was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of schedule II meth and possession of a firearm while in possession of meth.
Riffey was transported to the New River Valley Regional Jail, where he is being held without bond.
