Baywood man charged as result of task force's drug distribution investigation.

By Staff Reports

A Baywood man charged in a drug distribution investigation had several items seized when police raided his home — including his go-cart.
On March 22, members of the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and the Twin County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the home of Randy Eugene Osborne at 3170 Old Baywood Road near Galax.

“The search warrant was issued as a result of an ongoing investigation regarding the alleged distribution of methamphetamine and other illegal drugs,” said Grayson Sheriff Richard Vaughan.
The Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT) made entry into the residence at 1:25 p.m. last Friday afternoon. Task force investigators seized methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription pills, paraphernalia and packaging materials “consistent with the distribution of illegal drugs,” the sheriff said.
Along with the illegal drugs, police also seized $618 in cash, a go-cart, a utility trailer and numerous tools.
Osborne, 39, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Osborne was transported to the New River Valley Regional Jail on a $1,500 secured bond.
Vaughan said additional charges will be sought against Osborne and several other individuals related to this incident at the next meeting of the Grayson County Circuit Court grand jury in April.
