Donors help improve athletic facilities

-A A +A

As many of you know, the Grayson Football and Wrestling Club has partnered with the school system and the county in an effort to improve the athletic facilities at the high school. Currently, you can see the results of these efforts with a newly renovated athletic field.
The cost of the project is approximately $60,000. Our commitment is one-third of that. We are currently working to meet our obligation.
We want to thank the numerous businesses, churches, organizations and countless individuals who have already contributed to this project. With your help and influence, combined with the efforts of school board, school administration and county officials, we can see the positive results of this community effort.
Most of all, we want to thank the coaches who work tirelessly to help shape our young men and women. Coaches certainly go above and beyond the call of duty. It does not go unnoticed. Know that your efforts are genuinely appreciated.
Some upcoming fundraisers for the project include:
• a pancake breakfast Nov. 2 from 7-10 a.m. in the GCHS cafeteria. The cost is $7 per person. Please come out and enjoy breakfast and meet the football players.
• a 50/50 raffle, with only 200 tickets to be sold at a cost of $20 each. The winner will receive $2,000 during the Grayson County/Galax game at GCHS on Nov. 6.
