INDEPENDENCE – Grayson County scored three touchdowns on its first four plays Friday and totally dominated Bland County in a 48-0 Mountain Empire District game.
The Blue Devils celebrated homecoming with every player on the team seeing action.
The Bears got off on the wrong foot to open the game when a squib kick gave Grayson County good field position at its own 48.

McPherson said that he played a lot of players in the game to give them some experience. Ten different Blue Devils had at least one rushing attempt, led by Jarrien Goins with 54 yards on four attempts. Bilbrey and Roberts, who combined for 269 yards a week ago, had one rushing attempt apiece.
“We want to get better every week,” he said, “especially with Fort Chiswell coming up this Friday night on the Pioneer field.”
