INDEPENDENCE –– Just the night before, Grayson County’s Mikaela Anders scored her 1,000th career point. It only seemed like the Blue Devils had that many on Tuesday.
Grayson County outscored Pocahontas 48-2 in the middle two quarters and rolled to a 79-12 Mountain Empire District win.
Starting three freshmen, Pocahontas actually led in the early going as Crystal Dickens nailed a 3-pointer to open the scoring. But after its 1-for-1 start, the Indians (0-11 overall, 0-2 district) went on a 1-for-15 slide.
