INDEPENDENCE –– Grayson County opens its 2011 schedule Friday with a trip to Sparta for a nondistrict game against Alleghany, N.C. First, the Blue Devils must get their collective heads to stop spinning after Friday’s wild benefit game win in Floyd.

Grayson coach Brett McPherson couldn’t exactly decide which was the greater emotion after the 64-40 win – excitement over the offense’s performance or shock at the defensive effort.
