RICHMOND — Sheriffs’ offices, police departments, Virginia State Police and other law enforcement agencies in Virginia joined Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli in Richmond on Dec. 18 as he distributed $33 million taken from criminals and repurposed to fund requests for new equipment and training.
Locally, the Galax and Independence police departments and Grayson County Sheriff’s Office will benefit from the grant money, along with state troopers. Carroll Sheriff J.B. Gardner said his department had not received any funds from the program.
