Better severe weather preparedness is on the radar for the Twin Counties, as Carroll, Grayson and Galax work to become "Storm Ready" communities.
The three localities met with Phil Hysell, the National Weather Service's warning coordinating meteorologist from Blacksburg, on Dec. 28 to hear a presentation about the benefits of being Storm Ready.
