Coach thankful for support

-A A +A

The support shown to the Carroll County High School boy’s basketball team this year by the students, parents, school officials, and our community was overwhelming and exciting.
The emotions felt by the team were unbelievable when the gym was full an hour before we were to play in the regional championship.
There are so many people to thank for their support.
Our students were incredible with their creative theme nights. Our parents have been behind us the entire way — traveling to our games and encouraging us through this journey that has taken several years.
School board members, our superintendent, and other central office staff regularly came to see us play. Our community came together to pack the gym and create an atmosphere that other schools are envious of.
When I attended our regional meeting, coaches from other schools asked how they could build an atmosphere like that at their schools.
I appreciate the anonymous donor, Highland Fencing, and Brady’s Produce who selflessly provided the money for the cost of the tickets and transportation for the fan bus to the Salem Civic Center.
I would like to also thank Vaughn-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home for the generous donation of the pre-game meal before the state quarterfinal game.  It is this type of support that makes Carroll County great.
The season didn’t end in the way that we wanted it to, but I take pride in knowing that we beat two state champions along the way. There are many good things happening at CCHS.  Come out and support our other teams this spring!
