Cavaliers rally past Terriers

HILLSVILLE -- Having just ended a not-so-good first half on a positive note, Carroll County coach Tom Hale told his Cavaliers that if they got after it in the second half, good things would happen. It took about two seconds for that to ring true.

An impromptu onside kick sparked a 20-point third-quarter scoring binge for the Cavaliers, who roared back from a 20-6 deficit with 29 straight points to knock off William Byrd 35-26 in a nondistrict game Friday at Tommy Thompson Field.
